Applicants can expect to join a company that values practical expertise and long-term commitment. Role Description The General Foreperson is a full-time, on-site role located in Fraser Valley BC. This position oversees daily construction activities, including coordinating crews, assigning tasks, and monitoring work progress to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification. The General Foreperson is responsible for organizing equipment and materials, liaising with site supervisors and project managers, and providing clear direction to trades and labor. Day-to-day duties include inspecting work for quality, addressing site issues, enforcing health and safety standards, and maintaining accurate records of manpower, equipment usage, and site conditions. The role also involves mentoring team members, supporting training, and promoting a culture of accountability and efficiency on the job site. Qualifications Strong supervisory skills, including crew leadership, task coordination, and performance oversight. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation Effective communication skills for interacting with crews and subcontractors General construction knowledge for structural work is considered an asset (concrete forms, framing etc) Extensive experience in civil construction or a related field, preferably in a foreperson or lead role. Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and safe work practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and job plans. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Fraser Valley A BC job sites. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or trade certification is an asset.
