Educational & Experience Requirements: The Successful candidate will have the following: Currently enrolled or recently completed a College Diploma in civil technology or an equivalent program is considered an asset. Experience with materials testing and inspection is an asset. Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written. Main Duties: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following: Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt. Compaction testing of subgrade soils, aggregates and asphalt. Subgrade and foundation inspections. Various office and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering. Other duties as required. Position: Fall Co-op positions (September–December, 4-month term) Must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle. Pay Range: $20.50 - $23.50 CAD hourly In alignment with Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and pay‑transparency requirements, GEMTEC includes the expected compensation range in publicly advertised job postings for roles based in Ontario. Perform field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt. Conduct subgrade and foundation inspections while supporting geotechnical and environmental engineering tasks.
