Role Overview PIC Canada, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Farm Production Supervisor to join our team in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. The Farm Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality care of livestock while achieving farm production goals. This role oversees production scheduling, workforce planning, and team performance, ensuring operational priorities align with business objectives and animal welfare standards. This position provides hands-on leadership to employees, coaching and developing team members while coordinating activities across multiple farm functions to maintain productivity, facility cleanliness, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in livestock production, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to balance animal care, employee development, and operational performance in a fast-paced agricultural environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining biosecurity, safety, environmental compliance, adherence to the Canadian Pork Excellence (CPE) Program, and the company's animal care standards while driving continuous improvement across farm operations. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. The role follows a rotating schedule every three weeks to ensure coverage for weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. Travel of up to 10% may be required based on business and production needs. The salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $75,000 CAD. The amount provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. You Will Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily farm production operations, setting team priorities, assigning work, and collaborating with other supervisors to ensure production goals are met. Lead, coach, train, and develop employees, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and performance expectations. Ensure compliance with all animal care, biosecurity, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including the Canadian Pork Excellence (CPE) program. Oversee and ensure completion of daily animal husbandry activities, including wean procedures, fitness testing, F.I.R.E. maintenance and implementation, on-test and off-test activities (leg scoring, teat counting, ultrasound), IMF testing, and production flow activities related to testing, sales, slaughter, TOPs, sub-standards, and Improvest candidates. Manage and maintain the Improvest program, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate recordkeeping, animal welfare standards, and shipment readiness. Monitor animal movement and production flow to maintain operational efficiency and support production, testing, sales, and marketing objectives. Support day-to-day farm operations through hands-on participation in barn activities, including animal care, treatments, processing, feeding, loading, washing, sanitation, and other production tasks as needed. Ensure timely identification and treatment of sick animals and verify that accurate production, treatment, and operational records are maintained. Oversee facility cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, laundry services, and barn washing activities to ensure a safe, productive, and biosecure environment. Identify and resolve routine operational and technical issues, implementing process improvements and operational changes to support farm needs and business objectives. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, animal welfare, and operational excellence. Perform other duties as assigned to support the care of livestock and the overall operation of the farm. Leadership & Decision-Making Provide direct supervision to production staff, establishing daily priorities and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards. Exercise sound judgment in resolving routine operational challenges while following company policies, procedures, and production objectives under the guidance of farm management. Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders, using tact and professionalism when handling sensitive situations and operational matters. Requirements Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in livestock production, with a demonstrated track record of success. Experience with the Canadian Pork Excellence (CPE) Program is strongly preferred. Proven ability and willingness to lead, coach, and manage a team of 5+ employees. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work hours as required to support operations, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and emergency situations. Willingness and ability to comply with all biosecurity protocols, including required daily shower-in/shower-out procedures. Proficient in spoken and written English.
