Company Description Georgetown Raiders is a Junior A Hockey Club committed to developing talented hockey players in a competitive and supportive environment. The organization focuses on high-performance training, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while preparing players for higher levels of the game. Staff and volunteers work closely with athletes to support both on-ice performance and off-ice professionalism. As a community-focused club, Georgetown Raiders offers an opportunity to contribute to a respected hockey program and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced athletic setting. Role Description The Assistant Equipment Manager internship/volunteer role is on-site based in Georgetown, ON. This position supports the Head Equipment Manager and coaching staff with daily equipment-related tasks, including preparing, organizing, and maintaining player gear before practices and games. Responsibilities include managing inventory, assisting with skate sharpening and minor equipment repairs, setting up locker rooms and benches, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and available on time. The role also involves coordinating laundry of team uniforms, maintaining cleanliness and order in equipment areas, and supporting game-day operations such as loading/unloading gear for home and away games. This volunteer/internship role provides practical experience in hockey operations and equipment management within a Junior A club environment. Qualifications Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage equipment inventory and schedules effectively. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance, including skate sharpening and minor repairs. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with coaches, players, and staff. Physical ability to lift and move equipment bags, set up locker rooms, and stand for extended periods as needed. Interest in hockey operations and familiarity with hockey equipment; previous experience in sports equipment management is an asset. Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends in alignment with team practices, games, and travel schedules. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary studies in sport management or related fields are considered an advantage.
