We are currently looking for a Process Engineer at our Selkirk, MB facility. Job summary: Reporting to the location's Rolling Mill Superintendent, you will be responsible for developing, refing and communicating the engineering and operating data needed to produce billets and finished products. Your primary duties and responsibilities will be to: * Prepare and / or review all data sheets, diagrams and flow charts needed for the correct and efficient operation of the department equipment * Receive / collect, interpret and extrapolate data from the production process in order to monitor current performance against established practices and make recommendations on how to improve efficiences for the future * Work in close cooperation with department supervisors and appropriate maintenance and operations personnel to insure correct and proper operation of all related equipment to obtain the desired production, safety and quality levels as needed * Develop proper engineering information to facilitate departmental requests and needs for cost justification Our ideal candidate will have the following education / experience: * Basic knowledge of metallurgy and an understanding of steel manufacturing and techniques used in the melting, refining and costing of molten steel or modern rolling practices * Preference will be given to candidates with a degree / diploma in Metallurgical engineering, Metallurgical engineering Technology or a related engineering curriculum * 3 - 5 years of related work experience * Excellent communication and problem solving skills Gerdau offers excellent benefits including: * Health, dental, vision, short & long term disability * Basic Life / Accidental Life insurance * Defined Contribution RRSP / RPP with company matching * Employee Assistance Program * Tuition Reimbursement Program Gerdau believes in equal employment opportunity for all and the importance of each employee and applicant as an individual.
