The Dispatcher plays a critical role in daily operations by managing route schedules, coordinating driver activities, and serving as the primary bridge between customers, operations, and support teams. This role ensures high service accuracy, optimal route productivity, and rapid resolution of delivery or pickup issues. Partner with routing specialists to continuously refine daily routes. Driver Coordination & Check-in: Conduct end-of-day driver debriefs, audit route sheets for accurate data entry, and coordinate daily driver staffing levels to balance responsiveness with productivity. Customer Service & Issue Resolution: Handle inbound customer calls and emails, proactively troubleshooting pickup/delivery issues before service disruptions occur. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a central liaison between Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Maintenance to resolve service inquiries and clarify operational responsibilities. Documentation & Data Entry: Record operational logs, manage route paperwork, and ensure accurate system updates across internal platforms. Qualifications & Competencies Experience: 1–2 years in transportation, dispatch, logistics, or call-center customer service. Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education or specialized training in logistics/supply chain is an asset. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across phone, email, and two-way radio channels. Core Abilities: Outstanding multi-tasking, priority management, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility: Willingness to work extended hours, including occasional weekends, as operational needs dictate.
