GFT is seeking a Transportation Market Leader to join our Transportation team in Vancouver, BC. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Vancouver office. Working on the transportation team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. What you’ll be challenged to do: The immediate and primary focus of the Transportation Market leader will be on promoting business development, managing and contributing to large projects and ensuring financial viability of the business group in Vancouver long-term. You should also use your extensive management experience related to roadway, bridge, hydrology/hydraulics, transit and infrastructure design projects to motivate and inspire others. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Work collaboratively with GFT business groups and other offices to identify and pursue opportunities in British Columbia. Develop and execute growth & hiring strategy in the Vancouver Area. Provide thought leadership, regulatory oversight and mentorship to the developing and growing team and your clients, both internal and external. Champion quality, excellence & other relevant corporate initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements, including TAC, BC MoTT, MMCD, and other relevant municipal and provincial standards. Serve as project manager & project principal on key assignments. Serve as office principal for GFT’s Vancouver office. What you will bring to our firm: P. Eng. designation required (British Columbia). Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum 15 years of related transportation project experience, with substantial experience leading teams and managing project delivery. Direct experience in a project management capacity for clients in the Vancouver area & within British Columbia. Established relationships and proven experience winning pursuits with public and private clients in the Vancouver area & within British Columbia. Technical excellence in transportation design. A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration and claims resolution. What we prefer you bring: Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management, including revenue forecasting, cost control, and financial performance oversight. Experience in Transit & Rail (BRT and LRT including intermodal transit facilities). Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $280,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
