Software Developer (Java | Kafka | GCP) — Job Description We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong experience in Java, Apache Kafka, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join a high-performing technology team delivering scalable, real-time data solutions. In this role, you will design, develop, and support cloud-native applications and event-driven architectures while collaborating with teams across Canada, the United States, and India. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices. Build and support real-time streaming solutions using Apache Kafka. Develop scalable, event-driven architectures and data pipelines. Deploy and maintain cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Work with technologies such as Dataflow, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Storage, and Terraform. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to platform stability. Participate in production support and incident management on a rotating basis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. What We're Looking For 8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong expertise in Java and object-oriented programming. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and distributed streaming platforms. Experience developing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture. Experience with production support, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have Experience with Apache Flink. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).

The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices, as well as building and supporting real-time streaming solutions using Apache Kafka.
