As our Director of Finance, you'll own the monthly close from start to finish across three entities in two countries, lead a finance team of four, and report directly to the CFO. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, modernize systems, and influence executive decisions while remaining close enough to the numbers to understand every detail. This is a Director title with Controller-level ownership. You'll sign off on the financial statements—and you'll still be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build a reconciliation when needed. About PosiTrace PosiTrace (Global Fleet Management Inc.) is a profitable, founder-led SaaS company specializing in GPS fleet tracking, AI-powered dash cameras, and asset management solutions. For nearly two decades, we've helped businesses across Canada, the United States, and Mexico manage more than 38,000 vehicles and assets through innovative technology. Today we're a team of approximately 65 employees operating across three legal entities in two countries. Unlike venture-backed startups, we've grown sustainably and profitably, allowing our Finance team to focus on operational excellence, strong controls, and delivering accurate financial information that drives business decisions. What You'll Own The monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across our Canadian and Mexican entities — you run it, you sign off on it, you make it faster Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation into the statements our executive team, bank, and auditors rely on The full accounting cycle: GL, AR/AP, payroll coordination, cash management, intercompany Revenue recognition for our hardware + SaaS subscription model (deferred revenue schedules — ASC 606) Bank and lender reporting packages, external audit coordination, and tax filing coordination across jurisdictions A finance team of four across Vancouver and Mexico — mentoring, reviewing, raising the bar Our finance systems roadmap — including a planned migration from QuickBooks to a mid-market ERP. You’d lead it. What We're Looking For A senior Controller, Financial Controller, or Assistant Controller ready for the director seat CPA designation 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including running a close (not just participating in one) Working knowledge of Canadian payroll, GST/HST, PST, WCB and EHT Multi-entity or cross-border consolidation experience you built or owned yourself US GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals Comfort operating hands-on — you review the reconciliation and can do it Bonus points You’ve migrated or overseen a migration of a company from QuickBooks to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics GP — this project is on our roadmap and it’s yours if you want it SaaS or subscription revenue recognition experience Experience preparing lender reporting or supporting due diligence Basic Spanish — a bonus, not a requirement; half our finance team is in Mexico ContPAQi exposure Why this role, honestly The step up, without the wait: the Director title, the direct CFO line, and a team from day one — scope you’d wait years for at a larger company A systems story for your resume: own a QuickBooks-to-ERP migration end-to-end An AI-forward finance stack, built in-house: our CTO and engineering team build internal AI tools for the whole company — the finance team gets purpose-built assistants, on-demand custom reports, and automation on request.
