As our Director of Finance, you'll own the monthly close from start to finish across three entities in two countries, lead a finance team of four, and report directly to the CFO. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, modernize systems, and influence executive decisions while remaining close enough to the numbers to understand every detail. This is a Director title with Controller-level ownership. You'll sign off on the financial statements—and you'll still be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build a reconciliation when needed. About PosiTrace PosiTrace (Global Fleet Management Inc.) is a profitable, founder-led SaaS company specializing in GPS fleet tracking, AI-powered dash cameras, and asset management solutions. For nearly two decades, we've helped businesses across Canada, the United States, and Mexico manage more than 38,000 vehicles and assets through innovative technology. Today we're a team of approximately 65 employees operating across three legal entities in two countries. Unlike venture-backed startups, we've grown sustainably and profitably, allowing our Finance team to focus on operational excellence, strong controls, and delivering accurate financial information that drives business decisions. What You'll Own As Director of Finance, you'll be responsible for the overall financial operations of the organization, including: Leading the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across our Canadian and Mexican entities. Managing multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations and preparing accurate financial statements. Overseeing the complete accounting cycle, including:General Ledger Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Payroll coordination Cash management Intercompany transactions Managing revenue recognition for our hardware and SaaS subscription business, including deferred revenue schedules (ASC 606). Preparing financial reporting packages for lenders, executives, auditors, and external stakeholders. Coordinating annual audits and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Leading and mentoring a team of four finance professionals located in Canada and Mexico. Identifying opportunities to improve internal controls, reporting accuracy, and accounting processes. Leading our future migration from QuickBooks to a mid-market ERP platform. What We're Looking For We're looking for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys improving processes while maintaining strong technical accounting fundamentals. Required Qualifications CPA designation. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience owning and managing a complete month-end close process. Previous experience as a:Senior Controller Financial Controller Assistant Controller or equivalent leadership role. Strong knowledge of:Canadian payroll GST/HST PST WCB Employer Health Tax (EHT) Experience managing multi-entity and/or cross-border consolidations. Strong financial reporting knowledge. We report under US GAAP; candidates with ASPE or IFRS experience who are comfortable transitioning are encouraged to apply. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where no task is beneath you. Nice to Have Experience in any of the following would be considered an asset: SaaS or subscription-based revenue recognition. ASC 606. ERP implementation or migration projects. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics GP, or similar ERP platforms. QuickBooks expertise. Preparing lender reporting packages. Supporting financing or due diligence activities.
