Project Control Officer Location: Toronto, ON Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 4 days in office, 1 day work from home Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension, based on business needs and performance) Pay Rate: C$60.00–C$70.00 / Hour (CAD) Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours — 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day Travel Requirements: Not required --- Job Summary This Project Control Officer role supports the Road to Strong (RTS) initiative — a mandatory remediation program — within a large financial institution's IT delivery environment. The successful candidate will be embedded in a team of approximately 10 people, spending roughly 25% of their day in meetings and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. The contractor will not have access to customer data. TD offers a strong work culture, opportunity for long-term engagement and networking, and a portfolio of multi-year projects within this space. --- Key Responsibilities RAID Log Management — Ingestion of Risk/Action/Issue/Decision items; maintain coherency and currency of the RAID log Reporting — Consolidation and preparation of reporting materials including weekly status reports, ESC materials, and ad-hoc requests Interdependency Management — Consolidation and tracking of interdependencies across project workstreams as well as outside of the project Financial Management — Consolidation of monthly cost forecasts, tracking of actual spend, and analysis of variances between forecast and actuals Project Change Control — Maintain PCR list and action related tasks and activities Artifact Management — Organize, track, and index required artifacts; log exceptions and exemptions; assist during compliance and delivery assurance reviews Schedule Management — Track and report on identified tasks, deliverables, and milestones; highlight and escalate slippages for action and attention --- Required Skills 10+ years of Project Monitoring and Control Activity experience, including Schedule Management, Reporting, RAID Management, and Financial Management (in-depth) Large project/program delivery experience Strong stakeholder management experience Methodology knowledge (PDLC, Agile, Hybrid) Knowledge of MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project) JIRA, Confluence, Clarity, and SharePoint experience Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong time management and priority management skills Attention to detail; self-starter and adaptable Ability to work with ambiguity and limited direction --- Preferred Skills Banking or financial institution experience PMP certification --- Required Experience Minimum 10 years of overall experience in project monitoring and control activities (flexible with 5+ years for exceptionally strong candidates) --- Education Requirements Post-secondary education is an asset PMP certification is an asset --- Important Notes Interview process: 1 step, virtual, 30 minutes, panel format Performance will be measured on deliverables and timelines Conversion to permanent is a possibility based on business needs and performance --- About the Client This client is one of North America's largest financial institutions — the sixth-largest bank on the continent by branches — serving approximately 22 million customers across Canada, the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
