Détails du poste

About the client: An industrial services company specializing in protective coatings and corrosion prevention for steel products. The company serves customers across construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, and other industrial sectors, supporting projects of varying sizes and complexity. Its services focus on extending the durability and service life of steel components through specialized treatment processes. Responsibilities Coordinate the daily flow of inbound and outbound materials in a busy industrial yard, supporting approximately 20 truck movements per day. Receive incoming shipments and ensure materials are accurately matched to the correct customer, job, and paperwork. Coordinate outbound shipments, including arranging and lining up trucks for local and regional deliveries throughout British Columbia. Handle a mix of shipping, receiving, dispatch, and production coordination responsibilities. Work directly with customers to understand shipping requirements, priorities, timelines, and changing needs. Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, forklift operators, production staff, and management to keep materials moving efficiently. Coordinate and provide day-to-day direction to forklift operators responsible for unloading and reloading trucks. Supervise two direct reports and clearly communicate priorities, expectations, and required timelines. Continuously assess what needs immediate attention versus what can be deferred in a fast-paced production environment. Maintain accurate job and material inventory records and ensure physical materials correspond with internal records. Complete basic data entry and maintain shipment, customer, and job information using Microsoft Access and Outlook. Verify and match shipping, receiving, and production paperwork for accuracy. Spend approximately 50% of the workday at a desk coordinating logistics and 50% working within the yard and production environment. Assist with forklift activities occasionally when operationally necessary. Proactively identify work that needs to be completed rather than waiting for direction. Manage multiple priorities while remaining conscious of time, productivity, and operational deadlines. Adapt to changing production and transportation requirements, particularly during the busier summer season. Take on additional operational responsibilities as the business evolves and opportunities for growth arise. Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, dispatch, warehouse operations, production coordination, or a similar environment. Experience working around warehouses, yards, manufacturing facilities, or industrial operations strongly preferred. Familiarity with LTL freight and coordinating multiple inbound and outbound shipments is an asset. Strong organizational skills with the ability to track materials, jobs, trucks, customers, and competing priorities simultaneously. Excellent attention to detail, particularly when matching materials, customers, jobs, and shipping documentation. Strong memory and information-retention skills with the ability to quickly recall job and customer details. Confident and effective communicator who can work directly with customers, drivers, production employees, and management. Comfortable setting expectations, giving direction, and holding others accountable for completing work. Able to remain composed and productive in a direct, high-energy, fast-paced industrial environment. Thick-skinned and comfortable working with strong personalities and straightforward communication. Strong judgment and ability to independently determine priorities and execute accordingly. Proactive, resourceful, and willing to seek out additional responsibilities when immediate tasks are completed. Coachable and adaptable, with a willingness to learn the company's processes and operating style. Comfortable wearing multiple hats and taking ownership beyond a narrowly defined job scope. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and database/data-entry systems; experience with Microsoft Access is an asset. Forklift experience is an asset but a forklift license is not required. Galvanizing industry experience is not required. Demonstrated stability and reasonable tenure in previous positions is preferred. Able to work approximately eight-hour days with flexibility for longer hours during peak production periods. Location: Delta, BC Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (negotiable) | Benefits | RRSP
