Position Overview: We are seeking a 2nd-4th year associate who is eager to develop their career in civil litigation, focusing on commercial matters. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting, research, and advocacy skills. The selected candidate will be expected to take daily carriage of litigation matters under the guidance of a Partner. Key Responsibilities: Take daily carriage of litigation matters, as well as assisting Litigation Partners on matters for which they have carriage. Draft pleadings, motion records, correspondence, and all other documents necessary in civil litigation matters. Prepare for and conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, and pretrial conferences. Conduct due diligence, legal research, and risk assessments for litigation matters. Work closely with clients to provide strategic legal solutions necessary to advocate for them effectively. Client meetings Qualifications: 2nd-4th year call with experience in litigation. Experience in commercial, employment and construction litigation is an asset. The candidate must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. The candidate must have a J.D. from an accredited Canadian or Ivy League Law School. Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a high stakes environment. Excellent communication and client service skills. Why Join GLG LLP?
