MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience. * Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state or province in which the position is located. * 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience supporting an enterprise sales team and negotiating commercial technology contracts. * Knowledge of AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, IP, professional services, and regulatory matters relevant to enterprise cloud transactional legal work in Canada, including for regulated industries like financial services and healthcare. * Ability to communicate in French fluently to support client relationship management in the region. * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fluid environment. * Excellent communication, collaborative and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders. As a member of the Google Cloud Commercial Legal management team, you will be part of a dynamic group of in-house counsel partnering with the business to drive innovation and manage legal risk. In this role, you will support individual contributor workloads supporting Canada based Go-to-Market sectors and guiding executives across the Canada region. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Negotiate, draft, and structure enterprise commercial agreements with a focus on cloud services, including AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, professional services, IP, and regulatory terms, and other agreements as needed. * Advise Cloud Sales executives and leads on agreement strategy, legal and business risks, contract interpretation, regulatory issues, and other transaction and customer relationship matters. * Collaborate closely with other legal and stakeholder teams across Global Affairs and Cloud (such as Finance, Compliance, and Product) to drive commercial growth and support responsible agreement making. * Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian laws and regulations. * Promote the continuous improvement of Cloud agreement making through resource and fallback creation and programmatic enhancements.
