An eligibility list may be created for similar regular, term or acting status opportunities and will remain in effect for 12 months The Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time and a part-time Curriculum and Assessment Consultant position. Duties: This position requires a deep understanding of Manitoba’s Global Competencies and their integration into instructional design, and a demonstrated ability to develop and refine curriculum implementation resources and capacity building supports that respond to the diverse needs of Manitoba’s students and educators. The incumbent will guide the alignment of curriculum development, implementation, and classroom based assessment through the creation and refinement of policies and guidelines, including: Aligning provincial curricula, assessments, resources, and support materials with the Framework for Learning and government priorities. Developing support materials informed by current research in curriculum design, instruction, and assessment. As a highly skilled facilitator, the incumbent will support the development and implementation of curriculum and capacity building resources across disciplines, including: Preparing and reviewing curricula, assessments, and support materials that reflect departmental priorities and current research in instructional design, methodologies, and assessment. Ensuring alignment of curricula, provincial assessments, resources, and support materials with the Framework for Learning and government priorities. Leading and/or participating in the cyclical refinement of curricula and communicating updates to the field. Providing coordination, leadership, and guidance to teams of teachers developing curriculum documents or related implementation and support materials. Engaging teachers in pilot projects and collaborative development of curriculum implementation resources and supports. Qualifications: Essential: Extensive experience teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12 education, within Manitoba schools or other Canadian jurisdictions. Knowledge of relevant and emerging teaching practices, subject integration strategies, assessment practices, and a strong understanding of the Manitoba Framework for Learning and Manitoba Global Competencies. Knowledge and experience in curriculum development and implementation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong leadership skills, with experience leading projects. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Excellent critical thinking and sound judgment skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborate effectively in a team environment, and act with diplomacy and tact. Excellent written communication skills with ability to create and edit various documents with a high degree of accuracy. Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and present information to a variety of audiences. Desired: Demonstrated knowledge of current educational realities, including French-language education, Indigenous education, Truth and Reconciliation, and inclusive pedagogical practices.
