Position Details Fisheries and Aquaculture - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Reporting to the Director of the Aquatic Animal Health Division/Chief Aquaculture Veterinarian, this is a highly professional position in aquatic animal health management within Newfoundland and Labrador. The work involves responsibility for veterinary service to fin (shell) fish producers and researchers in the province including the operation of diagnostic laboratories in St. John's, St. Alban's and Grand Falls-Windsor, the supervision of technical personnel, and participation in the aquatic animal health regulatory program. Key responsibilities include the provision of aquatic animal health duties for cultured aquatic animals, response to emergency service needs, conducting active and passive surveillance programs, conducting biosecurity audits and providing evidence-based decision-making, leading to sound health policy. Preparation and delivery of public presentations will also be required.
