POSITION: DEVELOPMENT OFFICER SUMMARY The Development Officer plays a key role in supporting and advancing the mission of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation by planning and executing philanthropic initiatives in both Annual Giving and Major Gifts. Reporting to CEO this role is responsible for building and maintaining strong donor relationships, stewarding philanthropic contributions, and managing campaigns, events, and engagement strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties & Responsibilities Planning Support the development and execution of Annual Campaigns, Events and Major Gift strategies. Build and maintain donor pipelines, including organized portfolios segmented by giving capacity, donor interests, and stage in the donor lifecycle. Prepare fund development action plans that illustrate targeted donor levels, from entry-level to major gift contributors, that support strategic fundraising goals. Assist in identifying and expanding programming, partnership opportunities, and peer-to-peer opportunities. Stakeholder & Regional Relations Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, Foundation and Healthcare staff, and community partners. Participate and represent the Foundation in local and regional events to increase awareness and attract donor support as needed. Maintain and update donor records and engagement activity in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Manage event logistics, donor communications, and related materials. Engage with volunteer coordination as needed. Support the execution of Foundation events such as Festival of Trees as well as other internal and Third Party Events POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Nonprofit Studies, Business, Communications or Social Sciences) is preferred. 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or related nonprofit development roles will be considered an asset. Experience managing events, campaigns or portfolios in Annual Giving and/or Major Gifts will be considered an asset. Experience in donor stewardship, event management, and community engagement is an asset. Experience in sales and/or hospitality will be considered an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Upholds strict confidentiality and high ethical standards while using sound judgment and emotional intelligence in handling sensitive information and communications. Communicates clearly and professionally across written and verbal formats, adapting to diverse audiences with cultural competence and discretion.
