Job Summary Perform hands-on work in aquaculture facilities and marine harvest operations to support production and harvesting activities. Maintain equipment, handle stock, and follow safety and environmental procedures to ensure product quality. Number of Positions 2 Main Duties Feed, monitor and inspect fish or shellfish for health, growth, and signs of disease or mortality. Operate, clean and maintain nets, pens, cages, tanks and associated aquaculture equipment; perform routine repairs as needed. Assist with harvesting, sorting, grading, packing and loading of aquaculture products for transport. Deploy, retrieve and inspect gear from boats or shore, and perform basic underwater or deck tasks as required. Record production data, stock counts and observations accurately and report issues to supervisors. Follow biosecurity, environmental and workplace safety procedures, including handling and disposal of waste and chemicals as directed. Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying and working in varied weather conditions. Comfort working on boats and in marine environments, and willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces when required. Basic reading, writing and numeracy skills to complete logs, counts and production records; secondary education preferred. Previous experience in aquaculture, commercial fishing, marine harvest or related manual labour is an asset. Willingness to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, weekends and overtime during peak seasons. Ability to meet workplace health and safety standards and medical fitness requirements for marine work.
