The Denials and Coding Specialist – DRG Hospital Inpatient primarily manages payor DRG denials across Gundersen and Bellin regions. This role reviews inpatient medical records to assess coding accuracy, supports appeal processes, and ensures appropriate ICD-10-CM coding and DRG assignment to reflect the patient’s severity of illness and level of care. Requires 2 years of hospital coding experience and a certification such as CIC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA. A post-high school education in a specialized health information field is required, with an associate degree preferred.
