Our Community Booth 50/50 Volunteers help bring Habitat for Humanity Okanagan out into the community. You will represent Habitat at local events, connect with attendees, sell 50/50 tickets and help raise funds to support affordable homeownership right here in the Okanagan. This is a great role if you enjoy meeting people, attending community events and being part of a fun, welcoming team. What you'll do • Welcome and engage with event attendees • Sell Habitat for Humanity Okanagan 50/50 tickets using our electronic lottery terminals • Explain how the 50/50 works and how ticket purchases support Habitat’s work • Share basic information about Habitat, our ReStores, volunteering and other ways to get involved • Help set up and take down the Habitat booth when required • Keep the booth welcoming, organized and professional • Follow all Habitat and gaming procedures for ticket sales and handling lottery equipment • Work alongside other Habitat volunteers and staff • Most importantly, have fun and help us connect with our community What we are looking for You don’t need previous sales or fundraising experience. We’ll show you everything you need to know. You should be: • Friendly, outgoing and comfortable approaching people • Reliable and able to arrive on time for your scheduled shift • Comfortable using a simple electronic lottery terminal • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Comfortable standing for portions of your shift • A positive representative of Habitat for Humanity Okanagan What we provide • Training on our 50/50 lottery terminals and procedures • Information about Habitat so you feel comfortable answering common questions • All booth materials and equipment • Support from Habitat staff • A fun way to volunteer while attending some great community events across the Okanagan Why Volunteer? Every ticket sold helps us raise funds to support Habitat for Humanity Okanagan’s work in our community. You’re not just selling 50/50 tickets. You’re helping introduce people to Habitat, building relationships in our community and helping more local families access affordable homeownership.
