Résumé du poste
JOB PURPOSE: The Senior Hardware Designer has a solid background in the design of high-speed digital circuits, with a strong working knowledge of the hardware development of embedded systems, familiarity with FPGA/CPLD design, Signal Integrity and EMC simulations. The Senior Hardware Designer will be responsible for developing and maintaining product designs as well as testing the product to make sure that they meet the required functionality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop board-level designs integrating previously-used technologies (design re-use): Ensure that a functional, effective, operational and managed infrastructure is in place to cover the Company's networks, storage, backups and communication needs Document architecture, register map, design blocks, PCB design guidelines, etc.: Participate and document the architecture of the new designs Create and document the register map used by the software Document the important blocks of the design Create and document the PCB design guidelines use by the external layout team Review and approval of PCB layouts – ensure PCB layout is optimized for EMC performance. Provide support with the layout design of the new PCBs: Provide a layout placement to the layout designer Communicate with the PCB layout designer to validate the layout during the design Approve the layout prior to release Participate in the development of FPGA/CPLD logic (VHDL coding and simulation with ModelSim): Code FPGA (Xilinx/Altera) in VHDL in relation to the design specifications Simulate the design with Modelsim before the implementation in the FPGA Implement and validate the FPGA design Perform lab tests by using equipment like oscilloscope to validate and debug the prototype. Produce unit test plans (for Quality Assurance and Production groups): Create the necessary documentations to assure the quality and positive functionality of the news products to the quality assurance and production groups Specialize in Signal Integrity & EMC simulations using Mentor HyperLynx: Use Hyperlynx and appropriate design techniques to assure the conformity of the products with the electromagnetic compliance Support electronic testing of prototypes including: EMI, Environmental and ESD. Evaluation of new technologies and design trade-offs. Perform additional related duties as required: Execute additional tasks upon request ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience in Hardware Development, Senior Hardware Designer or Electrical Engineer.
