Primaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Property Accountant to join the team at our Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax, NS. If you are detail oriented and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this exciting opportunity is perfect for you! *Vacancy Status:* New Role As the Property Accountant, you will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients and provide efficient and accurate accounting of a retail real estate portfolio owned by Primaris. Your communication skills and positive attitude will contribute to the success of our team. Your main organizational task will be to provide timely and accurate reporting and budgeting by: * Monthly reporting, including month-end closes, actual to budget variance analysis, GST & QST returns, bank reconciliations, etc. * Prepare quarter-end audit packages and liaise with auditors * Draft annual financial statements and cost statements * Prepare annual tenant operating cost, CAM recoveries and realty tax billings * Prepare operating and capital budgets * Prepare quarterly re-forecasts * Assist with the integration of new property acquisitions as required * Other duties as assigned *Requirements:* To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are results driven, reliable, and flexible. If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, you likely have the following attributes: * Bachelor?s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field. * You have earned or are in the process of earning a professional accounting certification. * 1 to 3 years of accounting experience * Bilingualism (English/French) required (in accordance with business needs, this position requires proficiency in both French and English. The incumbent will regularly interact with employees, leaders, and external partners located outside Quebec, where English is the primary language of communication and collaboration). * Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Experience with an asset management ERP system (preferably Yardi). * Excellent customer service skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to build positive relationships while demonstrating commitment, dedication, and a proactive attitude. * Ability to produce accurate work with meticulous attention to detail and consistent adherence to deadlines.
