As a member of the team, the Central Intake Clerk applies knowledge of the Central Intake E-solution and other related booking guidelines to route the referring provider requests for medical procedures or exams to the appropriate destination within 27 hospital systems across the Ontario Health West Region. May be required to work with multiple computer programs and to coordinate with the appropriate health care team members. Performs a range of other administrative duties to support the operations of the unit. This is a very fast paced high volume output department that requires independent thinking, good teamwork qualities and frontline personnel who exude professionalism and display good public relations. 1. Community College Diploma in Medical Office Administration program or 2-3 years equivalent current medical office experience 2. Demonstrated Medical Terminology related to Diagnostic Services 3. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using computers MS Windows, Outlook, Word 4. Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding and typing skills 40 WPM 5. Good organizational and problem-solving skills necessary 6. Excellent telecommunication skills and interpersonal skills 7. Previous experience in Diagnostic Services reception, registration and booking areas preferred 8. Comprehensive understanding and familiarity with EPIC and ITS systems, preferred 9. Medical terminology, computer and typing skills will be tested
