Medical Lab Assistant

Under supervision and direction the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of laboratory tasks, which require learned manual skills rather than a technological training, to assist the trained technologists in various sections within the Department of Laboratory Medicine. 1. Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent 2. OSMT certified Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate 3. Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 4. Previous experience in Anatomical Pathology preferred 5. Knowledge of Epic computer system preferred

The Medical Laboratory Assistant performs various laboratory tasks to support trained technologists within the Department of Laboratory Medicine. They work under supervision to assist in different sections of the laboratory.

Candidates must have a Grade 12 education and an OSMT certified Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate. Proficiency in communication and familiarity with the Epic computer system are preferred.
