Porter

The Porter functions within Central Portering and is responsible for transporting and distributing equipment, supplies, food and linen as well as transporting patients. 1. Grade 12 (preferred) 2. Oral and written English ability 3. Ability to identify and respond to priorities 4. Ability to understand and follow directions 5. Ability to adjust to handling of highs and lows in providing services 6. Good interpersonal and communication skills 7. Ability to operate tow motor, where applicable 8. Ability to operate delivery equipment 9. Ability to push, pull and lift heavy equipment and stand constantly 10. Ability to lift 25 pounds (linen) 11. Ability to move patients

The Porter is responsible for the safe transport and distribution of equipment, supplies, food, and linen throughout the facility. Additionally, they are tasked with the physical transport of patients as required by the department.

Candidates should possess the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions are essential for this role.
