The Opportun ityWe're seeking a Bioinformatics Team Manager to lead and develop a high-calibre team of bioinformatics scientists. This is primarily a people leadership role, focused on growing the function, developing talent, and partnering with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable bioinformatics solutio ns. Key Responsibili tiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of experienced bioinformatics profession als.Define the team's roadmap alongside product and engineering leaders hip.Improve planning, prioritisation, and delivery processes across bioinformatics proje cts.Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver production-ready genomics soluti ons.Influence technical direction, resource planning, and organisational gro wth.Support hiring and scaling of the t eam. Require ments3+ years' experience leading technical or bioinformatics t eams.5+ years' hands-on bioinformatics experience, ideally with NGS analysis and production-scale pipel ines.Strong knowledge of genomics data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF) and workflow frameworks such as Nextflow, WDL, Snakemake, or CWL.Experience with Python, R, or similar scripting langu ages.Familiarity with cloud or HPC environm ents.Excellent stakeholder management and communication sk ills.MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experie nce).

Lead and mentor a team of bioinformatics scientists while defining the team's roadmap in collaboration with product and engineering leaders. Improve delivery processes and partner cross-functionally to provide scalable, production-ready genomics solutions.

Requires at least 3 years of technical leadership experience and 5 years of hands-on bioinformatics experience with NGS and production pipelines. Candidates must have expertise in genomics data formats, workflow frameworks, and scripting languages like Python or R, along with a postgraduate degree in a related field.
