Accounting Assistant - Oakville (4 days in office | 1 day work from home) Your New Company Our client is a privately owned, growth-focused consumer products and franchising organization with operations across North America. The business supports a portfolio of well-established food and retail brands and has built a reputation for innovation, operational excellence, and strong customer engagement. With continued growth and expansion initiatives underway, they are looking to add an Accounting Analyst to their collaborative finance team. Your New Role Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst will support the day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional seeking broad exposure to financial operations, reporting, analysis, and business partnering within a growing organization. Key responsibilities include: Performing bank, general ledger, balance sheet, and account reconciliations. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, matching invoices to purchase orders, collections follow-up, and resolving outstanding discrepancies. Ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule to support month-end reporting. Preparing and posting journal entries while maintaining accurate financial records. Reconciling subledgers to the general ledger and supporting intercompany transactions. Assisting with month-end close activities and financial reporting requirements. Preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for external audits. Supporting ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and operational projects. Assisting with business analysis, modelling, cost-management initiatives, and projects that support strategic growth and decision-making. What You'll Need to Succeed To be considered for this opportunity, you will have: Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 2-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment. A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience working with accounting software; experience with Sage 300 would be considered an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities. Hybrid working arrangement(after 90 days) with one remote day per week and additional flexibility when required Limited overtime requirements outside of key month-end activities.
