Your New Company Our client is a growing multidisciplinary architectural and engineering consulting firm with a strong presence in the residential and commercial building sector. Known for delivering practical, high-quality design solutions, the firm works on a diverse range of new construction and renovation projects across Ontario. With a collaborative team environment and steady project pipeline, this is an excellent opportunity to join a company where you can continue to develop your technical expertise while taking ownership of meaningful projects. Your New Role As an Intermediate Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical systems for residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments. Working alongside architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals, you will prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations while ensuring designs meet all applicable codes and standards. Your responsibilities will include power distribution design, lighting layouts, load calculations, fire alarm and life safety systems, generator sizing, and coordination with internal and external project stakeholders. You will also support projects through permitting, construction administration, site reviews, and responding to authority comments to help ensure successful project delivery from concept through completion. What You Need to Succeed To be considered for this role, you will possess: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience designing electrical systems for building projects within a Canadian consulting engineering environment. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit. Experience designing complete electrical systems for new building construction projects. Solid understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), Ontario Building Code (OBC), and relevant CSA and ULC life safety standards. Experience with load calculations, lighting design, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and emergency power systems. Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. EIT or P.Eng. designation, or eligibility to obtain professional licensure, would be considered an asset. A valid Ontario driver's licence and the ability to attend site visits as required. What You'll Get in Return In return, you'll join a growing and collaborative consulting firm where you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential and commercial building projects while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary in the range of $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience, along with 3 weeks of paid vacation, comprehensive health and dental benefits, and on-site parking.
