Java Fullstack Developer

Job Title: Java Fullstack Developer Location: Toronto, ON(hybrid) Duration: Long-term Contract Rate: CAD65-CAD68/hr Job Summary We are looking for a Full Stack Java Developer to build and enhance modern web applications using Angular on the frontend and Java/Jakarta EE on the backend. The role also requires working knowledge of databases and practical familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and LLM application components (e.g., vector databases and orchestration frameworks). You will collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, testable, container-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain SPA features using Angular 17+, TypeScript 5.x, and Angular Material / Material Design. Build backend services using Java 17+ and Jakarta EE 10 (REST APIs, validation, security, integration patterns). Design and implement API contracts, error handling, logging, and performance-conscious services. Write and maintain automated tests: Frontend: Jest Backend: JUnit 5 Work with databases: create/modify schemas, write queries, tune basic performance, and support migrations. Apply AI tools and patterns to improve productivity and/or product features: Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf/Devin) effectively and responsibly. Integrate or support LLM-based capabilities using vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB or similar) and orchestration frameworks (LangChain or Haystack). Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews and branching workflows. Build and package applications using Maven; containerize and run services with Docker. Collaborate in agile ceremonies, contribute to estimations, and communicate progress and risks clearly. Troubleshoot issues across the stack (UI, API, database, container/runtime) and contribute to root-cause analysis. What are the top 3 skills required for this role? 1.
