We are hiring a Network Designer for a permanent position on behalf of a well-established organization in Montreal. In your new role as a Network Designer, you will be responsible for implementing large‑scale technology projects, both in cloud environments (GCP, Azure) and on‑premise. You will design and hands-on implement complex enterprise network infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments, actively participate in transformational initiatives across the company, including complex architectures, hybrid environments, and highly redundant, high‑performance solutions. This role is intended for a network expert capable of working within environments that include Fortinet, Cisco, and F5 infrastructures. Key Accountabilities • Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of large‑scale network projects across the organization; • Work under the direction of the Team Lead – Network Projects to ensure successful delivery of strategic projects; • Deploy, configure, and optimize cloud network solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure as part of project delivery; • Contribute to the modernization of on‑premise infrastructures, including security, connectivity, resiliency, and performance; • Implement and maintain environments using Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, SD‑WAN) and Cisco technologies (routing, switching, wireless); • Design resilient, high‑performance, and secure architectures tailored to business needs; • Participate in multinational deployments in environments that may have significant latency; • Collaborate closely with cloud, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure alignment and consistency of solutions; • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational handoff guides; and • Participate in level 3 support for major network incidents in environments still in project mode. Job Requirements • Diploma or certificate in information technology, networking or a related field; • Equivalent certifications: CCNP / CCDP / CCNP Wireless / CCNP Security, Fortinet; • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a network administrator; • Hands-on delivery experience rather than primarily operational or support-focused backgrounds. • Strong technical expertise with ability to take ownership from requirements through design and implementation. • Experience in: Large-scale global multi-hub Fortinet SD-WAN, both on-premises and cloud and including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer. Enterprise Cisco multi-site data center and campus networking, including VXLAN, VRF, BGP, OSPF and wireless LAN controllers. Building network infrastructure in both Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure, extending enterprise networks across cloud environments globally to support infrastructure modernization and cloud adoption. • Experience supporting medium and large‑scale network infrastructures; • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; • Ability to work under pressure; • Excellent ability to explain and present technical information, and capacity to understand complex technological concepts; • Ability to manage projects within allocated timelines; • Strong knowledge and understanding of network security; and • Leadership, autonomy, initiative, and strong team spirit.
