Company Overview Rapidly growing multi-location organization seeking an Accounting Analyst to support a dynamic finance team. The company has experienced significant expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions, resulting in a large national footprint. This position offers exposure to financial reporting, operational accounting, process improvement initiatives, acquisitions integration, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead insurance claims administration and coordinate communications with external insurance partners Review GST/QST filings and government correspondence, including tax installments and notices Oversee bank reconciliations prepared by the accounting team Participate in financial year-end and month-end close activities, including preparation of supporting workpapers Supervise and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, ensuring deadlines and performance expectations are met Ensure financial data is accurately captured, processed, and posted within the general ledger Review monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity Partner with business stakeholders to support monthly financial reporting and analysis Drive process improvement initiatives across accounting operations and financial systems Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into accounting processes and financial platforms Maintain general ledger structures and accounting periods within the ERP environment Review and validate data imports and system interfaces between operational and financial systems Assist with monthly management and shareholder reporting requirements Generate ad hoc financial analyses and management reports as requested Perform internal process reviews, procedural audits, and other special projects Develop expertise in the organization's financial systems and reporting tools Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple business units Qualifications CPA designation considered a strong asset 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Bilingual in French and English Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience working with ERP systems; exposure to Great Plains is an asset Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working with large volumes of financial data and integrated systems Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving business environment High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Self-motivated, accountable, and capable of working independently Retail, multi-site, distribution, or consumer-facing industry experience is considered an asset Highlights Leadership responsibility with direct reports Exposure to acquisitions and business integrations Strong involvement in financial reporting and process optimization Opportunity to influence operational and system improvements Fast-growing, acquisitive organization with significant career growth potential
