The primary responsibilities for our Civil Construction Inspector, Rail (Contract): Provide inspection and construction supervision on Class 1 railway projects. Maintain accurate daily diary entries and completion of contract documentation records. Maintain daily photographic records, and videos as necessary to document contract activities. Complete site surveys of completed works for tracking item and material quantities for payment Complete daily inspections in accordance to client requirements and expectations. Monitoring construction work is in accordance to contract documents and specifications. Monitoring the contractor’s compliance to health and safety, and environmental regulations and legislation. Supervise and implement quality assurance acceptance and inspection of construction works. Report to the Project Manager onsite activities, concerns, and non-conformances, and provide recommendations for resolution. Provide mentorship to junior staff. Liaise with client representatives, as required. Act as client site representative. Requires working nights, weekends, and extended shifts. Work may be seasonal in nature, as work permits. Other duties as assigned. The role of Civil Construction Inspector, Rail is a casual, temporary, as-needed position. There will not be a set schedule but will be notified when we have work available. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience with engineering or construction. Preferred previous experience working with CN Rail and CPKC Rail projects. Previous experience working on municipal or provincial transportation projects would be as asset but not required. Be able to read and interpret construction design drawings. Ability to work in a team environment and independently in remote locations. Emergency First Aid & CPR Certification. Valid license with an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle. Required Qualifications Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma) A minimum of 3 years experience Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. Exigences

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering or construction. Must possess a valid driver's license, First Aid/CPR certification, and proficiency in MS Office.
