Duties to include: Preparing and administrating radioactive agents to patients and performing nuclear medicine procedures; Acting within the policies, procedures, work practices and license conditions of the nuclear medicine department and in compliance with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Regulations; Performing quality control checks on all imaging equipment, thyroid well and uptake unit; Communicating effectively with patients, DI staff, physicians and radiologist; Determining the proper camera and correct image parameters, collimator, computer combination and any other accessory equipment required for the procedure; Performing radio-pharmacy rotation, preparation and qc of radiopharmaceuticals and dose calibrator check, Ensuring reagents and kits are stocked and rotated to assure expiration dates are current other related duties. Minimum Qualifications: Must have successful completion of a formal study in Nuclear Medicine as a Medical Radiation Technologist from a recognized program. Must be registered with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), the College of Allied Health Professionals of Prince Edward Island (CAHPPEI); and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists-Atlantic (CAMRT-ATL); Excellent written and oral communication skills are required; Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is required; Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record; Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will prepare and administer radioactive agents to patients and perform nuclear medicine procedures. They will also ensure compliance with policies and perform quality control checks on imaging equipment.

Candidates must have completed a formal study in Nuclear Medicine and be registered with relevant professional associations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are required.
