Position #: 9010659 Expected Start Date: September 08, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Battlefords Union Hospital City/Town: North Battleford Department: Centralized Intake Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Assessor Coordinator - Degree $36.721 to $44.902 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the screening and coordination of initial service requests for all programs within Mental Health and Addictions Services (MHAS) in the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Assessor Coordinator - Degree provides screening, triage, assessment for urgency/risk, and coordinates case assignments. The position facilitates crisis response and short-term support for services to clients presenting with a variety of mental health and addictions issues. The Assessor Coordinator - Degree provides consultation to Community Agencies and Programs, regarding services available in Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS). Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * Experience in mental health & addictions is an asset Education * Bachelor Degree in a related Health Science or Social Science discipline Licenses * Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies * Organizational skills * Communication skills * Computer skills * Time management skills * Risk management skills Knowledge and Abilities * Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions * Able to cope w/ clinical, ethical, legal issues involving mental health services * ability and willingness to travel within service delivery area * Demonstrated knowledge of crisis assessment and intervention * Apply ethical, culturally sensitive and legal principles in practice * Knowledge of concurrent medical, psychiatric and substance abuse * Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area * Ability to cope effectively with stress, change, and diversity * Sound knowledge of mental health and addictions theory. * Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation * Working knowledge of Suicide Intervention skills * Works independently, effectively and cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team * Demonstrates effective relationships with staff, patients/clients, and families * Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory working relationships * Ability to distinguish normal and abnormal emotional behavioral functioning. * Knowledge/ability using MH&A screening to meet mental/physical needs of clients Other Information * Travel within the region and provincially * Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body * For more information on the city of North Battleford please visit https://www.cityofnb.ca/ The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing more than 45,000 staff in a dynamic healthcare environment.
