Position #: 001342 Union: HSAS Facility: Kerrobert & District Health Centre City/Town: Kerrobert Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses * Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training * Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) * International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) * Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies * Written Communication Skills * Verbal communication skills * Conflict resolution skills * Listening skills * Basic - Computer skills * Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities * Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions * Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations * Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking * Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively * Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care * knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice * Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. * Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis * Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Other Information * Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing more than 45,000 staff in a dynamic healthcare environment. Exigences

Candidates must hold a Primary Care Paramedic Certificate and a valid Class 4 driver's license. Additionally, certifications in CPR, ITLS, and BLS are required to perform pre-hospital emergency care.
