EMTs provide direct pre-hospital, emergency and patient care. They assist with the operations of the facilities they serve. The only restriction that has been identified governing their participation in these departments is; No duties can restrict them from responding immediately to any ambulance calls. EMTs shall abide by the Saskatchewan Health Authority and its Affiliates Mission, Vision, Values, Policies and Procedures. The Emergency Medical Technician provides direct pre-hospital emergency and patient care while assisting with facility operations. They must remain available to respond immediately to any ambulance calls at all times.

Candidates must hold a Primary Care Paramedic diploma and an International Trauma Life Support Certificate. A valid Class 4 driver's license and registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics are also required.
