Position #: 9011748 Expected Start Date: September 21, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Melville and District Health Care Centre City/Town: Melville Department: Public Health Nursing Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 26, 2027 FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: Per 6 weeks: * 20 shifts of 8 hours * 2 shifts of 4 hours Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The Public Health Nurse working under the direction of the Manager of Public Health Nursing as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model and works relatively independently. They are expected to make primary decisions based on sound assessments in accordance with the Public Health Act, the policies of the Public Health Nursing program, the SRNA Standards of Practice, the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice, the Public Health Nursing Discipline Specific Competencies and other relevant legislation. Inherent in this role are the knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, primary and secondary prevention strategies and protection. This role translates knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health programs and advocacy and liaises with, and refers to, other health personnel, as well as other sectors and community groups.
