REPORTING: Under the general direction of the Manager, IT Customer Services. DUTIES: Provide technical support in person, over the phone, email or via support ticket, triage and resolution of support queries on systems and applications. Identify and solve problems forwarded by the Service Desk in a timely and organized fashion. Analyze and interpret users needs for systems, applications or devices and effectively communicate them to team members and/or vendor application specialists. Repair or install hardware and software with minimum interruptions or down time. Provide technical advice and consultation. Log and track issues in ticketing system (e.g. Service Desk Plus) and re-assign if not resolved. Image computers and maintain software/Operating System (OS) standards. Recommend the purchase of hardware and software. Maintain and report appropriate licensing and inventory of software and hardware. Test and trial solutions in a lab environment. Liaise with vendors and internal and external stakeholders for support, and research pricing of products. Define online alternate education sources for software upgrades or solutions. Produce in-house documentation to support the training and development of the team and end-user community. Determine, and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes. Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines. Contribute to learner development by providing academic support, mentorship, preceptorship and supervision as required. Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place. Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required. Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Minimum of a three (3) year Diploma in Computer Science, IT and Information Systems, or in a related field, from an accredited college or equivalent. Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year experience working in an IT department. Experience in a Service Desk environment is required. Experience within a health care environment is preferred. Training or recent experience with Personal Computers (PCs), printers, and end-user hardware support. Training or recent experience with the deployment and support for Software as a Service (SaaS) and Microsoft 365 (M365) products including Azure Active Directory (AD), Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), Intune, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge of the operations of Meditech Expanse software. Demonstrated knowledge of the operations of SAP and M365 software. Demonstrated ability to explore, assess, and promote new methods and technologies. Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement. Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement. Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and patient information systems. Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines. Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information. Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients. PERSONAL SUITABILITY: Successful Criminal Record Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) is required. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues. Demonstrated positive work record and excellent attendance record. Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the job. Ability to travel between local sites.
