Line of Business: Aggregates Heidelberg Materials provides the materials to build our future. Our future is sustainable. Our future is digital. Heidelberg Materials North America, previously known as Lehigh Hanson, operates more than 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada. This British Columbia facility produces 6 million tonnes of aggregates a year. The Sechelt mine is located on the Sunshine Coast and is one of the largest sand and gravel operations in North America and one of the most advanced aggregates operations in the Heidelberg Materials Group. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Mine Manager. Reporting to the Area Manager for British Columbia Aggregates, this position manages, directs and coordinates the overall mining and production operations at our Sechelt Mine. What You’ll Get To Do: * Provide leadership to the Sechelt mine’s management team and employees in all aspects of mining, production, repair and maintenance, quality control and administration. * Implement and enhance the mine’s safety program to accomplish Heidelberg’s “zero harm” standard. * Develop, implement and execute specific strategies, plans and objectives to maximize the utility of resources, continuously improve the mine’s productivity and minimize costs. * Develop operating budgets and identify capital spending projects, prepare their authorization and ensure successful implementation of the recommended projects. * Oversee compliance with environmental and mining regulations, policies and procedures and continue the mine’s award-winning reclamation program. * Develop and maintain a constructive relationship with the company’s First Nations partners. Who we are looking for: * Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate employees at all levels of the organization * Minimum 10 years’ experience in mining or building materials production * Substantial leadership experience with proven track record of achieving results in a complex production environment * Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment * Excellent oral and written communication skills Work Environment: * Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels What we have to offer: * Competitive base salary $150,000 - $175,000 * Participation in our annual incentive plan * Highly competitive benefits programs * Pension retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributions * Our pre-employment process includes: reference checks, a medical screening, a criminal record check and a drivers abstract check.
