Job Purpose We are currenlty looking for a Field Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic who specializes in Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts and Telehandlers. This is a full-time position for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in quality work. What you will do... Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job site Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems Recondition and replace assorted parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state Educating customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear and address to ensure proper usage of the equipment until your next scheduled visit Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completed Maintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organized manner Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols Build positive relationships with customers Perform additional duties as assigned Skills Ability to work constructively under pressure. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates initiative and strong organizational skills. Exceptional communication skills while maintaining a professional customer service focused attitude. Requirements Journeyman Off Road Certification or HET Red Seal in Heavy Duty. Must have at least 3-years’ hands on experience repairing Aerial equipment. Ability to be on-call every other week. Valid Class 5 driver’s license. A clean and recent driving record will be requested. Schedule and Compensation Rate: $57.77/hr union rate. When you work in the field, there is an additional $1.50/hour field premium. *This rate is for candidates who hold their Journeyman HET off Road Ticket* Pension: $4.00 per hour (company-paid) after 24 months Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Hours: 11.5 hours per day at regular time Overtime: Paid after 11.5 hours/day or beyond the 7-day rotation Flight days: Monday. Start work Tuesday. Fly home after work on Monday. You do not get paid for travel. $1050/month living allowance if you live in Fort McMurray and do not want camp.
