Job Overview: The Marketing Specialist is a strategic, results-oriented marketer who brings strong project management skills, media experience, and a collaborative mindset to help advance Heritage Park’s brand, programs, and guest experiences. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-performing marketing campaigns, managing vendor relationships, producing branded materials, and ensuring executional excellence across the Park’s marketing operations. Responsibilities: Paid Media Planning & Execution Develop and implement integrated, multi-channel advertising strategies to support attendance, membership growth, fundraising initiatives, and special events. Manage media calendars, and execute campaigns across digital, print, out-of-home, broadcast, and social platforms. Optimize ad performance by analyzing KPIs and adjusting tactics in real time. Collaborate with external agencies and media partners to deliver high-quality campaigns and maximize return on investment (ROI). Vendor & Contractor Management Serve as a contact for creative contractors, print vendors, and media partners. Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring quality service and cost effectiveness. Conduct annual vendor evaluations to improve performance and identify savings opportunities. Oversee the creative production process—from briefing to delivery. Marketing Project Leadership Lead the intake, triaging, and prioritization of marketing requests across departments. Set and manage timelines, ensuring that marketing projects are delivered on time, on brand, and on budget. Use project management tools (e.g., Asana) to drive workflow visibility, team alignment, and deadline accountability. Coordinate large-scale initiatives such as the Calgary Stampede Parade and the Airport Display. Brand & Collateral Oversight Oversee the creation and delivery of marketing collateral, signage, and branded assets that align with Heritage Park’s visual identity and messaging standards. Ensure timely and accurate production of event materials, park signage, print ads, and promotional tools. Strategy Support, Budget & Financial Stewardship Co-manage key marketing budget lines, including tracking spending, reconciling invoices, and forecasting future needs. Maintain financial accuracy and accountability across campaign executions. Provide ongoing marketing guidance and support for internal departments (e.g., programming, membership, development). Mentor new marketing team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing work environment. Partner with leadership to ensure marketing goals align with Heritage Park’s broader strategic priorities. Performance Tracking & Optimization Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for advertising campaigns across platforms (digital, print, out-of-home, broadcast). Use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and vendor dashboards to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI. Generate post-campaign reports with actionable insights to inform future strategies and budget allocations. Monitor marketing performance trends, evaluate the impact of paid media, and adjust campaigns in real time to maximize results. Maintain organized records of campaign performance, vendor performance, and media deliverables for internal reporting and audits. Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and benchmarks for media efficiency. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Partner with internal departments—including Programming, Curatorial, Fund Development, Retail, Dining Services, Special Events and Guest Services—to deliver integrated marketing support that meets organizational goals. Lead the intake and prioritization of marketing requests, helping teams define scope, timelines, and deliverables. Support special events and major initiatives (e.g., Calgary Stampede Parade, seasonal programs) through targeted advertising, signage, and collateral development. Provide strategic advice and marketing coordination for cross-functional campaigns to ensure consistency, brand alignment, and audience resonance. Act as a central liaison between departments and external partners to streamline communications and keep projects on track. Required Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field is required. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a marketing coordination, campaign management, or advertising-focused role. Proven success in managing paid media campaigns and coordinating multi-stakeholder marketing initiatives. Strong working knowledge of marketing tools including project management software (Trello) , Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and budgeting platforms. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and attention to detail. Experience in a non-profit or tourism-focused environment is an asset. All successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to complete a Police Information Check as a condition of employment. Special Working Conditions: The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; and This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods Hours of Work: The standard hours for this position are 35 hours per week; The schedule will generally be five consecutive days per week (Monday to Friday); and This position is required to attend events for social coverage which will include some evenings and weekends
