Hiive is redefining how private companies and their shareholders access liquidity. Through its institutional-grade platform, Hiive brings together buyers, sellers, and issuers to facilitate secondary transactions in venture-backed, pre-IPO companies, introducing efficiency, transparency, and standardization to an otherwise opaque asset class. Recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies and backed by leading U.S. investors, Hiive is profitable, well-capitalized, and building a high-performance team to meet growing demand and pursue new market opportunities. As a Senior Product Designer at Hiive, you’ll join a fast-growing, high-impact product team. You will combine design craft, analytical thinking and user behaviour knowledge with an AI technology stack to define and deliver the user experience end to end. We’re looking for someone who can ramp up fast, collaborate cross-functionally, and help drive meaningful, measurable outcomes for the business. In this role, your responsibilities will include: Leading the design and implementation of key product features and initiatives, from conceptualization through iteration and delivery in code using AI agents (primarily Claude) to prototype and build interfaces. Collaborating with engineers in delivering front-end code for new features and optimizing the user experience based on user feedback. Collaborating with product managers, business stakeholders, and other designers, to refine product requirements and design solutions that meet both user needs and business goals. Conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to iterate and improve UX solutions. Designing and delivering web and mobile interfaces, with a focus on creating intuitive and delightful user experiences across devices. Owning and evolving the user experience output of a product team in combination with engineering. Presenting design concepts, prototypes and production demos to stakeholders across the company. Fielding questions and engaging in detailed conversations about the user experience, development, and business ramifications of a design. Supporting others around you, championing the company values with a positive outlook. Responding effectively and respectfully to various working conditions with a growth mindset. Required Experience: 5+ years of professional design experience. Experience working with Claude Code, Claude Design or equivalent AI tooling for producing user interfaces. Experience facilitating research and user testing. Experience working with and developing design systems. Experience collaborating with development to push production code. An online or PDF portfolio (please include any passwords). Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in a Fintech startup or designing for marketplaces. Front-end engineering experience in React. Compensation, Benefits & Perks: Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and contribution. Opportunity to participate in ownership of a rapidly growing company through our employee stock option plan. Comprehensive 100% employer-paid health & dental premiums and a Health/Personal Spending Account for Canadian employees.
