Mobile Automation Engineer

Job Title: Mobile Automation Engineer Location: Calgary, Alberta (Onsite/Hybrid) Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mobile Automation Engineer with 7+ years of experience in test automation to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Appium, and Selenium and hands-on experience automating both Android and iOS mobile applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while working closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile applications. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for Android and iOS applications using Appium. Create and execute automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and TestNG/JUnit. Develop and maintain regression, smoke, and functional automation test suites. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies. Perform API testing and validate backend integrations. Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools. Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira. Continuously improve automation processes, frameworks, and testing best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in QA Automation. Strong programming experience in Java. Hands-on expertise with Appium and Selenium WebDriver. Experience automating Android and iOS applications. Strong knowledge of TestNG or JUnit. Experience with API testing using Postman or REST Assured. Knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, and version control systems. Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with BrowserStack or Sauce Labs. Knowledge of Cucumber/BDD. Experience with Espresso or XCUITest. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Exposure to performance or security testing is a plus.
