Technical Business Analyst

Technical Business Analyst 6 Month Contract - 4 Days onsite downtown Calgary This role serves as the bridge between application teams, cloud engineering, and DevOps delivery teams during cloud migration and modernization efforts. The primary focus is not business process redesign, but rather ensuring applications can be successfully built, tested, released, and operated using modern engineering practices while preserving existing functionality and performance. Primary Focus Areas Build, test, and release process modernization. CI/CD pipeline design and deployment readiness. Branching strategy, repository governance, and development lifecycle standards. Functional validation and regression planning. Application performance and operational readiness reviews. Coordination between developers, testers, cloud teams, and product stakeholders. Documentation of deployment, support, and operational procedure Desired Skills & Experience Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile delivery practices. Experience with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management. Knowledge of branching, merging, source control governance, and deployment strategies. Experience documenting current-state and future-state application delivery processes. Ability to analyze technical workflows and identify modernization opportunities without altering business functionality. Familiarity with cloud migration projects and application lifecycle modernization. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills across technical and business teams. Experience supporting quality assurance, performance validation, and production readiness activities.

Acts as a bridge between application, cloud engineering, and DevOps teams to modernize build, test, and release processes during cloud migration. Focuses on ensuring operational readiness and preserving existing functionality through CI/CD pipeline design and repository governance.

Requires strong experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and Agile practices to analyze technical workflows and document delivery processes. Candidates must be skilled in stakeholder management and the technical aspects of cloud migration and application modernization.
