Role : SENIOR AWS SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT Location: Toronto (Hybrid — 4 day/week ) Job type: Contract(6 Months) - High possibility of Extention Pay : CAD $115 /Hour Start date : Immediate SENIOR AWS SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT We are seeking a senior, hands-on AWS Solutions Architect to lead the evolution of a modern AWS-based data platform from a federated data products layer into a scalable semantic layer powered by a Knowledge Graph. This role will play a critical part in shaping the architecture and technical direction of a next-generation data portal supporting advanced analytics, semantic search, and intuitive business-facing data experiences. The successful candidate will combine deep architecture expertise with hands-on engineering capabilities to develop reference architectures, HLDs and LLDs, productionize proven concepts, and guide the technical direction of a high-performing architecture team RESPONSIBILITIES Define and own the architecture vision for expanding the data platform from federated data products to a semantic layer powered by a Knowledge Graph Lead the design and implementation of semantic and context graphs to support advanced analytics, data discovery, and insight generation Architect agentic systems layered on top of the data platform to enable semantic search, comprehension, and conversational data interactions Design and develop scalable reference architectures, high-level designs and low-level designs for enterprise data and agentic solutions Work hands-on across AWS AgentCore Gateway and Identity, MCP, Knowledge Graph, Amazon Neptune, AWS infrastructure and agentic services Lead the productionization, integration and scaling of existing architecture concepts into enterprise-ready solutions Provide hands-on technical leadership while helping build and mentor a high-performing data architecture team Collaborate with engineering, analytics and product teams to align architecture decisions with business outcomes Translate Proof of Concept solutions into scalable, operational production environments Ensure solutions are transparent, explainable and accessible through business-facing interfaces Provide technical direction and architectural guidance across complex data platform transformation initiatives QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Proven experience delivering Data & Analytics projects on AWS Extensive experience in data architecture and platform design within large-scale, cloud-based environments Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing semantic layers or Knowledge Graph-based architectures Deep expertise with AWS data and analytics services Strong hands-on experience with AWS data lake architecture using Amazon S3 Strong hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg, including table formats, partitioning, schema evolution and table maintenance Strong hands-on experience with AWS Lake Formation, including LF-tags, row-level and column-level security, data filters and fine-grained access control Hands-on experience with Amazon Neptune and Knowledge Graph technologies Strong SQL and Python skills Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Experience designing architectures that support advanced analytics, data discovery and semantic search use cases Hands-on experience working across Proof of Concept and production environments, translating concepts into operational solutions Experience with AWS AgentCore Gateway and Identity, MCP and agentic services Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and cloud-native architecture patterns Strong stakeholder-facing design leadership and ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven ability to provide technical leadership and guide teams through complex architectural transformations Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, analytics, product and architecture teams NICE TO HAVE Experience with agent-based or agentic architectures for data interaction and insight generation Familiarity with conversational analytics or chat-based business intelligence tools Experience with explainable or transparent analytics solutions Background supporting business-facing data products or self-service analytics platforms Experience building or scaling next-generation data portals and semantic data experiences
