Job Description: Description Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic experienced and self-motivated Sr. Construction Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to oversee a prestigious metro and light rail projects. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Accountabilities Lead the construction team in planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of the project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with the engineering team, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement project plans and strategies. Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement proactive measures to mitigate them. Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, effectively to optimize productivity and minimize costs. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards throughout the construction process. Oversee the deployment phase of the project, ensuring efficient and timely implementation. Reviews the overall planning of project activities to identify critical milestones and priorities. Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and solicit feedback. Ensure the project is performed to the standard safety and quality assurance requirements. Follow the work progress of all Construction activities to accurately oversee Hitachi and Subcontractor quality standards, in collaboration with the quality manager. Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager for handover of the installed system and subsequent test, commissioning and start-up activities. Required Skills/ Knowledge Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the rail or transportation sector. Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices. Experience managing projects involving signalling, telecom and power supply systems is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Professional certifications such as PMP or CCM are a plus Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant knowledge to ensure that the company is producing high-quality installation and documents that meet customer expectations. Languages Written and spoken English proficiency.
