Family Law Legal Assistant HMC Lawyers LLP is seeking an experienced and organized Family Law Legal Assistant to join our growing team in Calgary. HMC Lawyers LLP is a litigation boutique with a strong reputation for providing practical, client-focused legal services. We are looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing exceptional support to lawyers and clients. Responsibilities Managing lawyers' calendars, deadlines, and court appearances Drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents and correspondence Preparing and filing court documents through Court of King's Bench and Alberta Court of Justice systems Maintaining electronic and physical client files Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and experts Assisting with financial disclosure organization and document management Scheduling mediations, Judicial Dispute Resolution proceedings, case conferences, and questionings Preparing affidavit materials, briefs, and court application materials Managing billing, time entry, and related administrative tasks Providing general support to lawyers in all aspects of family law matters Qualifications Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent education and experience Minimum 3 years of experience in family law preferred Strong knowledge of Alberta family law procedures and court processes Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently Professional, compassionate, and client-focused approach What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Comprehensive benefits package Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment Modern downtown Calgary office Hybrid work flexibility for the right candidate Why HMC?
