Quality Assurance Automation Lead

Role: QA Lead (Automation) Location: Canada Remote Duration: Full Time Interview: L1, L2 and Client We are looking for a strong QA Automation Lead with hands-on Playwright automation experience using any programming language (TypeScript/JavaScript/Java/Python). Must-Have Skills & Experience: Strong champion of Quality Engineering and Automation principles, with the ability to independently partner with Product Owners, Product Development teams, and Scrum teams to gather requirements and define a holistic QA strategy and roadmap. Strong technical expertise in test automation tools, framework development, and automation standards, including: Hands-on experience with Playwright + TypeScript (preferred) Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools Ability to quickly adopt Playwright if not already experienced Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to: Prioritize QA initiatives and automation tasks Remove technical and process blockers Provide regular progress updates to management Maintain QA documentation, reports, and required artifacts Strong experience setting up, executing, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks: Keyword-driven frameworks Data-driven frameworks Hybrid frameworks BDD frameworks Proven ability to: Work independently and deliver automation solutions Lead QA automation efforts Mentor team members Drive QA objectives and continuous improvement Experience leading automation teams and providing QA consulting to development and business teams.

Lead QA automation efforts by defining a holistic strategy and roadmap in partnership with Product Owners and development teams. Responsible for developing automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring team members.

Requires strong hands-on experience with Playwright and various programming languages, along with expertise in multiple automation framework types. Candidates must demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to independently drive QA objectives and continuous improvement.
