Position Summary An opportunity for an Addiction Medicine Physician at Ravensview, part of Homewood Health, the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada. This position is within our specialized treatment program delivering evidence-based treatments and superior treatment outcomes. This program is delivered on-site at Ravensview, in a collaborative manner, with a supportive interdisciplinary team, which includes nurses, dieticians, social workers, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, and horticulture therapists. In this role, you will be responsible for the clinical care of patients as they engage in their recovery journey. Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms, welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals. What you’ll be doing: * Clinically responsible for assigned patients including admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, monitoring, referral, daily care, and discharge. * Clinical care includes diagnosis and management of substance use disorders, medication management, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team for return to work planning and psychotherapeutic interventions * Provide ongoing supervision and management of clinical/patient care including individual assessments with the patient to ensure ongoing standards of patient care are met * Collaborate with other physicians, nurses and allied health professionals in providing optimal patient care within an interdisciplinary team * Complete documentation including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, weekly progress notes, a comprehensive discharge summary and if applicable third-party reports, of the highest quality to ensure the medical record is meaningful and useful and a treatment plan can be established by the team * Utilize electronic medical platforms such as Caseworks and BDM (training provided) * Provide clinical guidance to the program and to the admitting department for appropriate and timely referrals and admissions * Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained * Support colleagues with patient coverage during physician absences * Complete and submit MSP billings in a timely manner * Liaison with third party referrers as needed for continuity of care (VAC, provincial workers compensation boards, employers) What we are looking for: * Degree in Medicine and a license, in good standing, to practice medicine in BC * Registration with CFPC and CPSBC * Certification or fellowship in Addiction Medicine, or equivalent experience is preferred * Experience with diagnosis and management of comorbid mental health and substance use disorders is helpful * Adept at creating an environment that supports team spirit and collaboration across the organization * Faculty appointment preferred – experience in working with medical students and residents * Inspire others to be accountable through action, decisions and/or communication * Strong ability to create exceptional relationships with clients, patients, customers, and colleagues * Strong ability to negotiate and influence with proven critical thinking, analysis and complex problem-solving skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Highly developed organizational and time-management skills * Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention and control needs of the hospital * Working knowledge of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the principles of trauma-informed care are welcomed assets As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, and as required by BC Health Authorities, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Homewood Ravensview requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function, organizational tenure, experience, qualifications or premium skills, external competitiveness, internal comparability, geography and work performance. The pay for this position is $200 hourly plus billing incentives and call stipends. Exigences

Candidates must hold a degree in Medicine and a license to practice in British Columbia, with registration in CFPC and CPSBC. Certification or fellowship in Addiction Medicine is preferred, along with experience in managing comorbid mental health and substance use disorders.
