Open positions are distributed by seniority. A new employee will start on the night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., on a continental schedule (alternating between 36 and 48 hours per week). The hourly rate offered is $30.73 to start in addition to a $1.35 night premium. Increases will be given after 6 months. After 3 months of continuous service, employees become unionized and will have access to the following: Group dental and medical insurance paid at 90% by the employer. Life insurance; accident, death and dismemberment; short-term and long-term; and dependents paid 100% by the employee. Work uniform and safety equipment (glasses and shoes) paid for by the employer. Group RRSP where the employer contributes up to 4% of the employee's total salary, based on their initial contribution, after 1 year of continuous service Hood Packaging is a manufacturer of quality packaging materials and is present across Canada and in the United States through its 23 production sites. Our Montreal division specializes in the production and printing of plastic film with specifications that can serve the food business and any other industries looking for quality flexible packaging. Job description: The Extrusion Apprentice is called upon to, while respecting safety rules and quality and food safety policies: Transport resin from the warehouse to the extrusion equipment. Fill the oven with the appropriate resin for the type of plastic roll to be produced. Start, adjust and optimize extrusion lines according to production specifications. Participate in quality control through measurement and verification testing. Finalize the product and prepare its shipment to the warehouse or press department. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to prevent any non-conformances that may affect product quality. Perform any other related tasks as requested by the supervisor. Ensure that your workstation is clean, safe and well organized. Rigorously apply occupational health and safety rules.
